Welcome
Bowsland Green PTA
Registered Charity No.1052424
The PTA meet
on average twice every term to plan fund raising
events. Meetings start at 6.30pm until 8pm, are
informal and alternate between Tuesdays and
Thursdays. As a parent/carer you are
automatically a member of the PTA and are
welcome to join us at our meetings. See the PTA
notice boards for details of our next meeting.
The PTA
provide funding for items and services the
school would not otherwise receive funding for
from the Local Education Authority. Over the
years purchases include the whiteboards, PA
system, stage lighting, printers a contribution
to the cost of the all weather ball court, and
every year we pay for the Year 6 leavers disco.
How you can make a difference
For
those who are unable to commit time on a regular
basis, there are other ways you can give your
support. Here are just a few:
1. We always
need extra help at our big events. Just an hour
of your time goes a long way manning one of our
stalls.
2. Attending
events once in a while is just as crucial to
make these events a success.
3. Perhaps
you have a particular skill you could offer –
cooking, carpentry, marketing, etc. If you do
let us know who you are, we promise not to take
advantage of your generosity.
4. You may
work for a large company who have a company
matched giving scheme. The PTA have been
fortunate enough to receive money from
Sainsbury's and Nat West Bank. All it takes is
a form to fill in.
5. We
sometimes run raffles. Perhaps you our your
employer may have an item that could be donated
as a prize.
6. Have you
completed a gift aid form? If you or your
partner pay tax the PTA can claim an additional
25% on top of any donation we receive. This
year we hope to recoup around £1,500 in tax this
way! Forms are in the PTA drawer by reception.
7. When
shopping online go to
www.buy.at/bowslandgreen
– the PTA earn commission from every sale –
there are hundreds of high street retailers on
this site – you don't pay any more than you
would have done by visiting the retailer
direct. Or register at
www.thegivingmachine.co.uk
if you prefer, it works the same way, but
you can link through to that site with your own
desktop icon – even easier!
8. Use
everyclick.com
as your search engine and every time you make a
search the PTA receives a cash donation.
There are many
small ways to show your support – it just needs
a little thought. You can make a big difference
in a small way. Any ideas or inspiration are
always welcome.
Children love
to see their parents getting involved – so go on
and get stuck in! We never turn an offer of
help away. Did we mention we sometimes meet in
the pub?
