... school through our web site. The web site has been developed by a group of committed staff, pupils, Governors and parents, which reflects our belief in partnership being the way to a successful school. We hope you will find lots of useful information about the school and our approach to learning.
Our aim is to provide the highest quality education possible for every child in our care in order to enable them all to reach their potential. We do this by providing an environment that values each child as an individual and encourages them to progress and achieve in a variety of ways.
We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum which is carefully planned to meet the needs of all children. The core subjects of Literacy, Numeracy and Science are complemented by a wide range of other National Curriculum subjects. We also offer Spanish and a regular focus on International Education. For example this year the children have enjoyed a Spanish Cultural Day and a Trinidad and Tobago week culminating in a Carnival around the streets of Bradley Stoke. Great fun!
The children are also encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities which change seasonally. Recently children have enjoyed football, netball, cross country running, art, science/ICT, judo, multi sports and a junk band club. The choir are active in a variety of performances each year and specialist music tuition is available from Year 3 onwards. The performing arts are an important part of our curriculum and we encourage each child to take part in a performance and a class assembly for the parents each year.
Our school is based on a shared system of values and our Golden Rules which are developed with the children, permeate everything we do. Rewards and sanctions encourage the children to take responsibility for their own behaviour and learning. Our ultimate aim is to enable the children to move on to secondary school as confident and independent learners.
Nothing can replace the first hand experience of a visit and so, if you are considering Bowsland Green for your child please contact Mrs Cooper in the school office to arrange an appointment.
